A Festival of Flavor and Light: Diwali Celebration Brings Joy to Lunada Bay Park By Contributor Shikha Vidjearadji
Diwali, the festival of lights, holds deep significance as a celebration of light over darkness. This festival unites the community and brings happiness as families and friends gather for a feast, light, and joy.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, Lunada Bay Park blossomed into a radiant wonderland of lights and glowing LED decor. Guests savored a vibrant spread of Indian delicacies—crispy samosas, tender chicken tikka, spicy tikki chana, pakoras, veg chow mein, creamy chicken tikka masala, soft naan, saag paneer, dal makhani, and gobhi aloo—all crowned by a cart serving mango lassi and chai.
The sweetness continued with indulgent matka kulfi and warm carrot halwa. The night sparkled on with a Bollywood DJ, Dhol beats and Bhangra, and a dazzling light robot show, each act bringing a new layer of magic. A 360° photo booth, beautiful backdrop and inflatable photo station, henna art, and sparkly face painting captured the evening’s spirit, as a professional photographer captured each joyful moment.
A special cocktail bar added extra sparkle to the celebration, featuring creative drinks like Bollywood Breeze, Diwali Crush, Tandoori Sunrise, Lime Masti, Dhol Beats, Festive Masala, and Firecracker on the Rocks.
The event concluded with an exciting raffle featuring gifts and cash prizes, followed by heartfelt gratitude for the event’s sponsors. The joy in spreading the light is absolutely lit.
Shikha Vidjearadji, the event organizer, shares a quote close to her heart: ‘You have to find what sparks a light in you so that you, in your own way, can illuminate the world.’ It was this very spark that set the evening aglow as over 600 people gathered on November 2nd at Lunada Bay Park to celebrate Lunada Bay Diwali.
