Native Plant Sale by the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy – Saturday, August 10th at George F Canyon 10:30am – 12pm, located at 27305 Palos Verdes Dr E, Rolling Hills Estates, CA 90274. Create your own butterfly garden with a beautiful native plant from the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Our native plant expert will give you professional tips on creating a garden waystation and home for local species! Join us Saturday, August 24th at White Point Nature Education Center located at 1600 Paseo del Mar, San Pedro 10:30am – 12pm for another chance to get native plants.
Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy Storytime Tails – Feathered Friends – Saturday, August 11th, 10:30am – 11:30am - Join us at White Point Nature Education Center for fun stories about the cool critters that live in the nature preserve. Storytime includes crafts and hands-on activities. Recommended for ages 3-6 and their caregivers.
Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy Team Leader Training, Saturday, August 17th – 1pm-3:30pm at White Point Nature Preserve. Become a Team Leader for Outdoor Volunteer Days! Team Leaders provide support and oversight during events. If you love restoring habitat and working with others, this program is for you! This training will be delivered in an outdoor space. Please come prepared by wearing closed-toe shoes and bringing sun protection. All volunteers must at least 16 years of age and register in advance to participate. Sign up at pvplc.volunteerhub.com
Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy Education Docent Classroom Training Part 1, Tuesday, August 20th – 9am – 11:30am and Part 2, Thursday August 22nd – 9am – 11:30am. Join us at White Point Nature Education Center for a two-part training where you will learn how to be a classroom docent for the 3rd grade Student Naturalist Program. No prior experience necessary. Naturalists will guide you along a trail through the preserve to discover a unique variety of wildlife in their canyon habitat with amazing views of the LA Basin. Meet on the back patio of the Nature Center and come inside to explore after the hike. Parking in Preserve lot located at 27305 Palos Verdes Drive East, Rolling Hills Estates, CA 90274. Rain cancels. The Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy is looking for volunteers who enjoy sharing their love of nature and the Peninsula at community events around the South Bay. Join the Community Outreach volunteer team to help engage local the community for events and greet participants of our free monthly guided nature walks. No experience needed & flexible schedule.
