UCLA South Bay Invites the Life Long Learner in You! By Mindful Instructor, Author, Artist and More Shelley Stockwell-Nicholas, PhD

On Saturday, October 19th, from 10-12am, I will teach a two-hour hands-on “Guided Imagery and Relaxation” class that includes breath work, mindfulness, sensory awareness, and the best ways to take it easy, and soothe your vagal nerve.

My class, and many other carefully selected seminars, are offered as a prelude to the future, formal opening of UCLA’s South Bay campus. They were created by the thoughtful folks at UCLA’s Life Long Learning Institute (OLLI) and the tuition for each is only $15!

Their Saturday Classes begin include; “Understanding Wolf Endangerment” (July 6th), “Yoga and Expressive Arts” (July13) “The Rise of Super cities (like LA, Long Beach and the South Bay” (July 20) and “An Introduction to Drones (July 27th).

The UCLA South Bay Campus is the former sight of Marymount College at Palos Verdes, the breathtaking 24.5-acre campus at the intersection of Palos Verdes Drive East and Crest Road.

UCLA South Bay’s charming President, Steven Yu, COO and CFO, plans “to bring a fresh perspective for higher learning and excellent value to each student and the community so everyone enjoys healthy ways to learn, grow and succeeds in life… My sense of success comes from seeing those I serve become the best version of themselves!”

Of the three hundred plus offers, UCLA prevailed in the purchase of this spectacular location andon January 30, 2023, they purchased the property for $80 million. Let’s show them how happy we are that they are now a part of our wonderful Palos Verdes community and have a prelude to what is about to come!
