SPECIAL EVENTS        

Monthly Guided Nature Walk at White Point Nature Preserve with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Saturday, November 9th, 9am.  Celebrate Veterans Day walking through restored coastal sage scrub habitat and stop at a former WWII gun emplacement to learn about the military history of the area. Don’t miss the Nature Education Center with activities for the whole family. Easy to moderate. Sign up at:  pvplc.org/calendar       

Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy Nature Club for Kids – Reptiles – Saturday, November 9th, 10:30am – 11:30am - Join us at White Point Nature Education Center from 10:30am-11:30am for a reptile themed nature club. We'll do some fun reptile activities and meet our live reptile ambassadors! Suitable for ages 5-10.    

Native Plant Sale by the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land ConservancySaturday, November 9th at George F Canyon 10:30am – 12pm, located at 27305 Palos Verdes Dr E, Rolling Hills Estates, CA 90274.   Create your own butterfly garden with a beautiful native plant from the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Our native plant expert will give you professional tips on creating a garden waystation and home for local species!  Join us Saturday, November 23rd at White Point Nature Education Center located at 1600 Paseo del Mar, San Pedro 10:30am – 12pm for another chance to get native plants.       

Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy Storytime Tails: Lively Lizards on Sunday, November 10th from 10:30am -11:30am - Join us for fun stories about the cool critters that live on the nature preserve with crafts and hands-on activities. Recommended for kids ages 3-6 and their caregivers.  

Become a Trail Watch Volunteer with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy – Saturday, November 16th, 9am - Noon AND Saturday, November 23rd, 9am - Noon -    Want to help monitor local preserves in the Palos Verdes Peninsula? Family Nature Walk at George F Canyon Nature Preserve with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Saturday, November 2nd, 10:30am.  Naturalists will guide you along a trail through the preserve to discover a unique variety of wildlife in their canyon habitat with amazing views of the LA Basin. Meet on the back patio of the Nature Center and come inside to explore after the hike.  Parking in Preserve lot located at 27305 Palos Verdes Drive East, Rolling Hills Estates, CA 90274. NEW! Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy 1st Wednesday Bird Walk at White Point Preserve on Wednesday, November 6th at 9am. Join expert Bob Shanman meeting in front of White Point Nature Education Center for a free bird walk with an experienced naturalist, binoculars provided. 1600 Paseo del Mar, San Pedro, CA 90731

OUTDOOR RESTORATION ACTIVITIES        

Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy Outdoor Volunteer Day at Abalone Cove Reserve, Saturday, November 2nd, 9:15am –12:00pm. Join the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy to volunteer on a breathtaking coastal reserve helping restore wildlife habitat.  Students can receive community service hours.  Sign up at pvplc.volunteerhub.com       

Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy Outdoor Volunteer Day at White Point Nature Preserve, Sunday, November 3rd and Sunday, November 17th, 9am – 12pm.  Join us at White Point Nature Preserve! We will be working to maintain the preserve's restoration area of native plant species to improve critical habitat for wildlife at the preserve and beautify outdoor natural space for the community.  Sign up at pvplc.volunteerhub.com        

Outdoor Volunteer Day at Agua Amarga Reservewith the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Saturday, November 9th, 9am – 12pm. Help remove invasive weeds and care for a community restoration site to benefit wildlife. Sign up at pvplc.volunteerhub.com.      

Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy Outdoor Volunteer Day at Alta Vicente Reserve, Saturday, November 16th, 9am – 12pm. Come help us to restore habitat on the 22-acre restoration site to create a home for rare cactus wrens and gnatcatchers with beautiful views of Catalina Island. Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy Community Outreach Volunteers    

The Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy is looking for volunteers who enjoy sharing their love of nature and the Peninsula at community events around the South Bay. Join the Community Outreach volunteer team to help engage the local community for events and greet participants of our free monthly guided nature walks. No experience needed & flexible schedule. Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy Education Docents    

The Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy is seeking volunteer education docents who would enjoy working with students, either in the classroom or for field trips and to greet visitors at one of two nature centers the Conservancy manages. The Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy provides a leadership development opportunity to learn to lead small teams at Outdoor Volunteer Days.
