Monthly Guided Nature Walk at McBride Trail with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Saturday, January 11, 9am.  Walk a rimmed canyon trail with stunning panoramic views and an overlook of a 96-acre addition to the nature preserve.  Easy. Sign up at:  pvplc.org/calendar      

Nature Club- Rocks & Fossils with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Jan 11th at 10:30am 

Join us at White Point Nature Education Center from 10:30-11:30am for a rocks and fossils themed Nature Club! We'll learn about being a geologist and paleontologist while doing fun activities and crafts. This event is free and suitable for ages 5-10. 

Native Plant Sale by the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land ConservancySaturday, January 11th at George F Canyon 10:30am – 12pm, located at 27305 Palos Verdes Dr E, Rolling Hills Estates, CA 90274.   Create your own butterfly garden with a beautiful native plant from the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Our native plant expert will give you professional tips on creating a garden waystation and home for local species!  Join us Saturday, January 25th at White Point Nature Education Center located at 1600 Paseo del Mar, San Pedro 10:30am – 12pm for another chance to get native plants.      

Storytime Tails- Fabulous Fossils with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Jan 12th at 10:30am 

Join us at White Point Nature Education Center for fun stories about the cool critters that live on the nature preserve with crafts and hands-on activities. Recommended for kids ages 3-6 and their caregivers. 

MLK Jr. Day of Service by the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Monday, January 20th, 9am – 12pm.  Join us for Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service at the White Point Nature Preserve! You will help care for the Native Plant Demonstration Garden by planting native shrubs, removing invasive weeds, watering native plants, grooming trails and more! GUIDED MONTHLY WALKS      

NEW! 1st Wednesday Bird Walk at White Point Preserve with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy on Wednesday, January 1st at 9am. Join expert Bob Shanman meeting in front of White Point Nature Education Center for a free bird walk with an experienced naturalist, binoculars provided. 1600 Paseo del Mar, San Pedro, CA 90731 

Family Nature Walk at George F Canyon Nature Preserve with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Saturday, January 4th, 10:30am.  Naturalists will guide you along a trail through the preserve to discover a unique variety of wildlife in their canyon habitat with amazing views of the LA Basin. Meet on the back patio of the Nature Center and come inside to explore after the hike.  Parking in Preserve lot located at 27305 Palos Verdes Drive East, Rolling Hills Estates, CA 90274. Guided Family Nature Walk at White Point Nature Preserve with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Saturday, January 18th, 10:30am.  Naturalists will guide you along a trail to discover a unique variety of wildlife in their coastal sage scrub habitat with amazing views across to the ocean.  Meet in front of the Nature Center and come inside to explore after the hike.  Preserve parking available at the end of the street in a gravel lot at 1600 West Paseo Del Mar, San Pedro. OUTDOOR RESTORATION ACTIVITIES 

Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy Outdoor Volunteer Day at Abalone Cove Reserve, Saturday, January 4th, 9:15am –12:00pm. Join the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy to volunteer on a breathtaking coastal reserve helping restore wildlife habitat.  Students can receive community service hours.  Sign up at pvplc.volunteerhub.com      

Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy Outdoor Volunteer Day at White Point Nature Preserve, Sunday, January 5th, 9am – 12pm.  Join us at White Point Nature Preserve! We will be working to maintain the preserve's restoration area of native plant species to improve critical habitat for wildlife at the preserve and beautify outdoor natural space for the community.  Sign up at pvplc.volunteerhub.com 

Outdoor Volunteer Day at Agua Amarga Reservewith the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Saturday, January 11th, 9am – 12pm. Help remove invasive weeds and care for a community restoration site to benefit wildlife. Sign up at pvplc.volunteerhub.com.      

Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy Outdoor Volunteer Day at Alta Vicente Reserve, Saturday, January 25th, 9am – 12pm. Come help us to restore habitat on the 22-acre restoration site to create a home for rare cactus wrens and gnatcatchers with beautiful views of Catalina Island. Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy Community Outreach Volunteers     

The Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy is looking for volunteers who enjoy sharing their love of nature and the Peninsula at community events around the South Bay. Join the Community Outreach volunteer team to help engage the local community for events and greet participants of our free monthly guided nature walks. No experience needed & flexible schedule. Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy Education Docents     

The Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy is seeking volunteer education docents who would enjoy working with students, either in the classroom or for field trips and to greet visitors at one of two nature centers the Conservancy manages.
