The Honda Heritage Experience: A Journey Through Innovation By Writer and Contributor Emily McGinn

The Honda Heritage Public Relations department manages the American Honda Collection Hall (AHCH) in American Honda’s national headquarters in Torrance, CA, and the Honda Heritage Center (HHC) in Marysville, OH, the headquarters of Honda Development and Manufacturing of America.

Both museums feature over 60 representations of all Honda product lines including automobiles, powersports, power equipment, marine and aircraft. The AHCH focuses on Honda’s sales presence in the U.S., which started in 1959, and the HHC celebrates our stateside engineering and manufacturing that began in 1979 with motorcycles, followed by cars in 1982 as the first Japanese auto brand to do so.

The AHCH is open during regular weekday business hours for self-guided tours. Guided tours are also available upon approval and booking. The museum really comes alive, however, during the bi-monthly Cars, Bikes & Coffee (CB&C) shows that occur every other month in February, April, June, August, October, and December. The HHC is open for self-guided tours on Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. with extended hours on Wednesday through 5:00 p.m.

The CB&C shows are always themed with focuses such as Racing, Street Performance, Art of Mobility, Clubs & Community, etc., which keeps all event fresh with different displays and activities. The shows include a live DJ, food trucks, vendors, and special exhibitors. The family-friendly events are open and welcoming to enthusiasts of all brands, models, and eras of autos and bikes.

CB&C shows run from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. but we open the gates early at between 7:30-8:30 a.m. to allow early arrivals to park. The first event occurred in October 2022 and there’s been an average of 1,200 vehicles and 2,400 people showing up ever since.
