My kids could not get their Halloween costumes on fast enough!
“We’re superheroes!”
Felicity and her younger brother, Todd, were out the door with me in tow. They took me on a two-hour hike until Todd sat down with a sour look on his face.
“My foot has a boo-boo,” Todd exclaimed. “Can I take off sissy’s shoes yet?”
I was happy for the finish line of trick-or-treating but realized Todd had just gotten his first blister. He was wearing his sister’s hand-me-down boots.
More candy couldn’t get that child walking again!

Kids are amazing creatures. Halloween frees their imaginations and they become the superheroes they were meant to be until a snafu in the physical world takes over. So much for tight boots! It was good while it lasted! I can only smile when I think…
