Guided Family Nature Walk at George F Canyon Nature Preserve with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Saturday, February 3rd, 10:30am. Start the New Year’s off to a healthy and fun start by joining a trained naturalist for a guided journey through a unique habitat along a beautiful canyon trail with amazing views of the LA Basin. Meet outside on the back deck of the George F Canyon Nature Center. Parking in Preserve lot located at 27305 Palos Verdes Drive East, Rolling Hills Estates, CA 90274. Rain cancels. Valentine's Day Native Plant Sale by the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy – Saturday, February 10th at George F Canyon 10:30am – 12pm, Get the best gift for your Valentine that will live long after Valentine's Day with a beautiful native plant from the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Our native plant expert will give you professional tips on creating a garden waystation and home for local lovebirds! Join us Saturday, February 24th at White Point Nature Education Center 10:30am – 12pm for another chance to get native plants.
Valentine's Day Nature Club on Birds for Kids with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy. Saturday, February 10th, 10:30am – 11:30am at White Point Nature Education Center. Join us for a Valentine-bird-themed Nature Club. We’ll do fun bird crafts including Valentine's Day cards and observe birds in their natural habitat! Ages 5 to 10 years.
Guided Family Nature Walk at White Point Nature Preserve with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Saturday, February 17th, 10:30am. Naturalists will guide you along a trail to discover a unique variety of wildlife in their coastal sage scrub habitat with amazing views across to the ocean. Meet in front of the Nature Center and come inside to explore after the hike. Preserve parking available at the end of the street in a gravel lot at 1600 West Paseo del Mar, San Pedro. Community Canvassing Orientation with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Tuesday, February 6th, 1pm – 3pm. Learn to introduce the Conservancy by meeting people either greeting people in front of Peninsula businesses or visiting residents in Peninsula neighborhoods. 18 years +. Trail Crew Intro Training, Saturday, February 10th, 9am – 12pm at Hesse Park, RPV. Learn about trail building and maintenance from a nationally-recognized trail expert covering various techniques for erosion repair, building rock walls, proper pruning and more! Outdoor Volunteer Day at Alta Vicente Reserve with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Saturday, February 3rd, 9am – 12pm and Saturday February 17th, 9am – 12pm. Outdoor Volunteer Day at Agua Amarga Reserve with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Saturday, February 10th, 9am – 12pm and Saturday, February 24th, 9am – 12pm. Help remove invasive weeds and care for a community restoration site to benefit wildlife. Sign up at pvplc.volunteerhub.com.
Outdoor Volunteer Day at White Point Nature Preserve with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Sunday, February 11th, 9am – 12pm and Sunday, February 25th. Help care for the native plant demonstration garden at White Point Nature Preserve by planting native shrubs, removing invasive weeds, watering native plants, grooming trails and more! Volunteer with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy Rapid Response Team, Fridays & Saturdays, 9am - 12pm. Work alongside the field staff to help protect important wildlife habitat.
