Why Am I With This Bozo? By International Hypnosis Federation President, Author, Artist and More Shelley Stockwell-Nicholas, PhD
I hear there’s always one bozo on the bus…I have been on the bus many times and never saw one…
My client “Joe” was working as a grip in Hollywood. One day he suffered a heart attack and as they carried him off the set, his drug supplier buddy said to him; “You can’t die Joe, who will I do my crack with.” It was an eye opener for Joe. He stopped drugging and quit the “friendship.”
It’s important to pay attention those with whom you hang around. You influence and are influenced by those around you. The bottom line is that to live your most healthy, happy, successful, and fulfilling life, it’s best to surround yourself with positive, like-minded people. Positive support literally enhances your resilience to stress and boosts your immune response.
Are they positive-minded, encouraging, and supportive?
Do they energize and inspire?
Do you like their priorities?
Are their values and goals in your best interest?
Do they listen to you with kindness and empathy?
Do they pat you on the back when you accomplish something?
Do they encourage you to do the right thing?
GOOD JOB! Now ask yourself the same questions about YOU:
Do you energize and inspire yourself?
Do you like your priorities?
Are your values and goals in your best interest?
Do you listen to yourself with kindness and empathy?
Do you pat yourself on the back when you accomplish something?
Do you encourage yourself to do the right thing?
You attract people to teach you something about YOU. Pop psychology law of attraction says, “You’re a magnet who draws to you what you put out.” SO, if the biggest influencer in your life is YOU, maybe, just maybe, it’s time to decide who and what you want to attract. Here are five things to notice.
1. OTHERS ARE YOUR TEACHERS. Think back to why you chose to hang out with someone. Then ask yourself, “How has knowing them benefitted me? What do they teach me about my best and worst traits?
2. ATTITUDES ARE CONTAGIOUS. If you or your friends are negative, pessimistic, or defeatist it’s more contagious than the Wuhan flu.
3. EVERYONE DOES THEM SELF PERFECTLY. You cannot change anyone except YOU.
4. YOU DECIDE TO GET ALONG WITH SOMEONE… including yourself.
5. MAKE A NEW FRIEND. How is your circle of friends? Is it time to make a new friend? One extra positive friend can co-create wonderful shared memories and a brilliant today.
Now give yourself a hug… You’re the best Bozo you’ll ever meet.
