Celebrate the Flower of Love - National Red Rose Day is June 12 By Designer, Photographer, Style Maker Simie Seaman
Isn’t it enough to buy red roses on Valentine’s Day and your sweetie’s birthday? Nope…they’ve also got their own day. Think of it as a distant cousin to Valentine’s Day.
It’s National Red Rose Day!
Each year on June 12th, we celebrate the flower of Love and romance the Red Rose. The rose is also the June birth flower.
Roses have a long history being used as decoration in wedding ceremonies. That’s probably how they became a symbol of love to give on special holidays…or to get back into good graces after you’ve messed up! The tradition of giving red roses is the strongest message of love.
You already know that Red Rose Day is the perfect holiday to send red roses to those you love and care about. But there are other things you can do on this special day that will make for truly romantic or memorable event.
You might consider taking your love to a rose garden. It’s the perfect time of year for such an occasion, too. Depending on where you live, there is the incredible Howard Historic Rose Garden at the Banning Museum in Wilmington that would definitely be worthy of your time and consideration.
The rose garden contains a diverse collection of roses consisting of many varieties and colors that were popular during the Victorian era.
