Color Me Blue, Purple, and Even Pink at the South Coast Botanic Garden By Adventurer and Photographer Dianne Gowder
I don’t know about you, but I have a particular fondness for blue and purple flowers, so while I was there a week or so ago, I resolved to only photograph those colors!
That is what I am going to share with you today.. mostly.
It’s pretty hard to limit oneself there, so much beauty. As soon as I entered the garden I found brilliant fuschias in different shades.
Moving on to the children’s garden and this delightful pathway I found blue and purple everywhere!
As I moved through the garden I found shades of blue and purple everywhere from agapanthus (or lily of the Nile as it is often called) to Borage, irises and cornflowers, my personal favorite!
I don’t know all the names of these wonderful blooms, but I am sure you will agree that they are a feast for the eyes.
And I couldn’t resist adding a photo of the topiary flamingos, such fun and beautifully done. The one in the front seems to be named Flavio!

Dianne loves to walk and she tries to do at least 3 miles every day before she heads out to work. Her love of photography evolved from her walks.
“ I have always been amazed by scenery here and more and more I found myself stopping to capture the beauty of my surroundings. As I shared my work I realized that very few people were even aware of what they have on their doorstep!”
Dianne has made it her mission to share the beauty through her photographs and she takes her friends on walks as often as possible.
