Freighthouse continues to consign high end, unusual and sometimes antique pieces. This Silverplate Tea Service consists of coffee and teapots, sugar and milk jug, a waste bowl and the perfectly shaped tray.
The metal is highly detailed with carefully chased faces on the tray but also on the handles.
It is dated c.1875 by Wilcox out of Meriden, Conn. In superb condition, it is nearly 150 years old!
The style of the design is called Aesthetic Movement. This is the period of “art for arts sake”. This service is an heirloom in the making for some lucky family.
